Upcoming Activities in Support of Sunnyview Property Tax

Community Citizens in Support of Sunnyview announce some upcoming activities to promote the passage of the ballot proposal to increase the county property tax assessed to the Grundy County Nursing Home District.

A Town Hall/Open House will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2025, in the Sunnyview Apartments Dining Room open to the general public. Two opportunities to attend will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and again from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on that date. Access to the dining room can be made from the parking lot on the southwest side of Sunnyview Apartments and entering through the patio porch attached to the building.

CCSS members will be present to greet county residents and answer questions patrons may have about the upcoming ballot. Residents will also be present to show off their “home” and to give personal testimonials about their lives in Sunnyview Apartments. The public will have a chance to see the Sunnyview Apartments portion of the Grundy County Nursing Home District and to interact with employees who spend their days in “caring for those who cared for us”.

A second opportunity for the public to hear the specifics of this initiative in support of the Grundy County Nursing Home District will be at the open community Meet the Candidates night to be held in the Performing Arts Center of Trenton High School on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, 6:00 pm.

Again, committee members will be presenting information to the public about the overdue solution helping to enhance the care of and services for county residents and additional residents who call Sunnyview their home. The committee members will be open to questions that the public may have about the rationale of this initiative on the April 8, 2025, ballot.

The CCSS also reminds the public that the last date to register to vote in this election and ballot proposals is March 12, 2025.
