What A Busy Month!

October was a very busy month at Sunnyview! The month started with the MO day festival parade featuring our two oldest residents at Sunnyview Marjorie Olson (101 years old) and Dorothy Fries (100 years old). The week of Halloween was especially busy as the Trenton Chamber hosted the trick or treating at the rock barn in Trenton for the community kids. The staff chose to dress as the elderly and the residents chose to dress as their nurses! Sunnyview and other local businesses passed out treats to over 400 kids! On Halloween day the activities department had a Halloween party for the residents. They had music, games, costumes, and dirt cup pudding. The residents had a miniature dance party in the dining room with staff which is always fun to see! The staff got to parade around the facility in their Halloween costumes for all residents to see! The winner of the Halloween contest was a group of creative nursing staff. Vanessa (bath lady), Harley (loofah), Michael (bar of soap), and Karla (rubber duckie). This group won a pizza party for winning the contest. Halloween night ended in Trick or treating at Sunnyview. The residents huddled around the tables in the main dining room as kids from the community came to visit and get delicious candy! This is one of the residents favorite times of the year as they love seeing all the kids faces and all of their Halloween costumes!
